Today, it was a lovely sunny day. However, I stayed at home the whole morning. About 1pm I went out to buy some gifts to my relatives and friends because I planned to go back home in Easter holidays. After that, my cousin suggested to go to Coven garden where there are different means of entertainment. I went especially to see 'the unreal status'. Artists with amazing clothes, dying themselves and looking lifeless. Unfortunately, we were late and we'd just found an Asian old man who was playing a weird instrument. He was talented and his fingers were playing a slow comfortable music.

I decided to go to Fitness First to get rid of my muscles pain. It was 19h and I hadn't quit home yet. In a hurry, I tried to catch up my sport needs and run away to reach quickly the bus stop. Once there, I remembered that I had forgotten my Oyster card in the other coat. I decided to have a walk in the neighborhood and not to come back in order to decrease my leg pain.

I had an appoitment at 16h for a personal training that lasted an hour. A member of the staff will introduce to the new member the different materials and exercices to do. I did some stretching exercices so I'm hearing my muscles moaning :-) . Once at home, I had a delicious plate of pizza for dinner without any remorse.

Today, I decided to go to 'Fitness First' that I didn't went to for over a week. I did some exercices during an hour and go bach home to have dinner and do self-study. I was tired and sleepy and tried to keep my eyes open. I had a long day but an enjoyable one.

The story is taking an other direction. I liked the unexpected events that appeared at this stage of the story. When I've just begun the story, I found it boring. Talking about the Empire theatre and Mr George who was interested in it. But, step by step I began to enjoy the sadden new events.

Today, it's the first day of the fourth month of learning English. I was late for my course. When I arrived, the teacher told me that we will see THE MOVIE 'Let him him have it'. We tlaked about it last month, after I decided to write about death penalty. I was excited to see that film, a British one based on a true story of a young boy who was hanged for a crime that he didn't commit. I was overwhelmed by the good play of the actors.
1- I Have revised 'quantifiers, determiners and quantifiers' in the Advanced Grammar in Use (second edition) p.88 to 102:
After the writings that I have done during three months of General English, I remarked that I'm still commiting mistakes related to pronouns so I decided to revise this lesson in a grammar book. The lessons are clearly explained with examples, however the amount of information and cases for each pronoun makes it difficult to memorise all examples. I was looking for the relation between these pronouns and the countable and uncountable nouns but my disturbance wasn't corrected.

It's a tape contaning the listening test of IELTS which consists of four sections. In each section you have to listen to the speaker and answer the questions. I was interested on that because I want to take the Ielts exam later and I want to know how it takes place.

I wrote my report about these two markets, here is the writing:
LONDON’S EXCEPTIONAL MARKETS
We are in London Bridge station, the doors slide open, we exit of the underground, look for the way out and take the escalator to the east side of Borough street. Once at the top, one can spot the principal entrance of Borough market which is located under a railway.
“Many important events of the early history of London took place in the area of Borough Market” which “recently celebrated 250 years of trading on its current site. It has survived in this area for 20 centuries and remains a centre for food excellence”[*] as it is explained on borough market’s website.
Once into the place, you remark continuous movements and hear a deep sound like bees in their hive: People talking, laughing, tasting, taking pictures… Carried by this joyful mood, the visitor can expect he will enjoy those few moments.
The place seemed familiar to me and I felt a sense of déjà vu: Products displayed on stalls covered by sunshades, wavy alleys between sellers… and I recalled Moroccan markets where I used to go with my father.
First, I was attracted by the colours and smell of olives placed in wooden buckets, I approached the stall, saw the inscriptions and I read “Moroccan pitted black olives”. I wondered why they were pitted, we always eat them with their pits and remove them later, especially the black ones (we usually use the pitted green olives in our cuisine). I abandoned this idea and I looked left, I saw a variety of hand selected apples and apple juices which were traditionally squeezed (apple and raspberry, hot apple and cinnamon …) but I didn’t try anything, apple is not my cup of tea.
We crossed the market, me and my cousin, we were excited to see this amount of varieties and discover new ones. We stopped at a bakery stall, where an old and a young men are the sellers of 13 kind of bread (German, American, French…). We asked to take a picture and the old one said: “Yes, of course” and jokingly commented “if you pay me money you can do whatever you want”. He was big and tall, with white hair and moustache, he wore an apron. By his rough appearance, he seemed like a butcher.
I lifted my eyes up and I saw that the high ceiling was composed of orange metallic pieces where rectangular shaped glass is set providing sun light for the market. Some signs were hanging up with citations onto connected to the principal theme “FOOD”. With funny content, they reflect the joyful spirit of their writers, in one of them, Louis Diat said “There are five elements: earth, air, fire, water and garlic”.
In vegetables corner, the mixture of colours was inspiring, it was like a still life painting. Many shapes, many colours, many length, even some babies vegetables like baby carrot, baby fennel and baby beetroots.
In addition to this, there were stalls of cheese, bakery, chocolate, fish, charcuterie, confectionery, pastry,… they sale fresh and ready food, so many products even some that you can not expect as the ostrich meat, hunted rabbits and vegetarian food.
We went out of this area, and entered to an extension of Borough market called “Green market” where they sale flavoured olive oils with rosemary, garlic, lemon, basil…, oysters and a tempting dish called “raclette”, from the French racler that means to scrape. It’s a Suisse speciality made of melt cheese poured on vegetables which usually are potatoes.
The day after, which was a lovely sunny day, we went to Notting Hill Farmers Market. It is a small street market that lasts only the morning. It strictly concerns the growers and producers of food, who sell their own fresh organic products.
As Borough market is firstly a food market, in the same way, NHF market it is as well. However, in the latter, you can smell and feel the freshness of the stuff. Each stallholder knows his product, its provenance, qualities, making process… and that makes you feel healthier. In contrast with Borough market or even supermarkets, you can talk, ask and argue with the seller who is the real producer of his merchandise, and I don’t believe a description could be as revealing as the market organisers’ words:
“Stallholders at market will talk to you with knowledge and enthusiasm about their produce because they have been involved in the process. Provenance is an important part of our philosophy. We run farmers' markets because we have a genuine interest and passion for food, farming & markets. Every market manager shares this enthusiasm. The markets also help to build local community links and benefit Britain's rural economy. We want to see farmers' markets in every London borough, accessible to anyone who wants to eat fresh local food”
At the entrance, the first stall was selling apples and their juices just as in Borough market. We moved to the second one, there was a friendly girl who was selling a variety of meat that I think have never tasted before (venison, pheasants, pigeon). She seemed shy and looked like a typical English girl, an allegation that we verified by asking her about her nationality.
The merchandise on display was various: Pork meat, bread, organic eggs, dairy products, jam, honey, pasta, vegetables, goats and buffalo cheese, homemade cakes… I really appreciated the honey stall where a seller women displayed different kinds of products made from honey or its wax (candles, soap, hand cream).
One of the most frequented stalls was the “watercress” one, a green vegetable which has many effective benefits (cleaning toxins from the system, reducing water retention, curing hearth disease, purifying blood and treating skin eruptions, eczema, acne, rashes and other skin infections). The man was selling the watercress plant in addition to homemade soups, quiches and pies.
Once at the pasta stall, a women who heard my discussion with my cousin, talk to us in French and knew that we are Moroccan so she advice us to try the “Chermoula” which is a Moroccan marinade.
Both markets are interesting and enjoyable, but NHF market, despite its short length, engraves on you a pleasant feeling of happiness and familiarity: There is always a story behind a product and that makes you closer to the origin as if you were the farmer.

We went to Notting Hill Farmers' Market and Portobello Market, they are both situated in Notting Hill but totally different. The first one is an organic food market, which is small but very friendly. There, you can find also ready food which is handmade. The market sells local products coming from farms near london. Each stallholder can give you unexpected details about his merchandise. To sum up, a lovely place in a lovely sunny day.
Portobello market was so big that we couldn't see all stalls, they sell clothes, ready food, jewellery, CD, vegetables... It was crowded on Saturday.
So finally, I decided to describe NHF market which I loved, and compare it to Borough market, because of their similarities and clear differences.

1- During the flight, on my way back to London, I have done some exercices on the Language Leader CD.
2-I came back to London. I enjoyed this flight also, I met in the plane an English couple who were friendly and the man was talkative, what I appreciated. When he knew that I'm learning English, he told me that I can talk to him, so he spoke to me during the flight. He told me about his residence in Saudi arabia for 18 years. He is living and his wife in Oxford.They were in Morocco for holidays in a riad in Marrakech, they liked the place and the food as well (tajines). They want to visit Fez next time. When he knew that my father is working in the Moroccan airline compagny, he asked me to tell him about his requests, he was just joking so I told him "My father is not the director" and he answered me "But maybe he knows people who know other people" and we laughed. The man told me that he appreciates this company which has good services. When the plane landed, he adviced me to not work as an air hostess and told me that I will become an intrepret in the United Nations, so I was surprised and I said "We will see, maybe one day you will see me on the BBC".

I had a plane to Casablanca, this time I left the sun in London for a gloomy weather in Casablanca.
I enjoyed the flight,I sat next to an English man, we discussed about a lot of things, he told me about his love for walking, that's why he was travelling to Marrakech from where he will go to a southern region to explore it. He speaks also French and Arabic (Egyptian Arabic), he was many times in Egypt.

I have written a description about a classmate:
The mysterious student
How could I begin? From where? I have just spent seven days in this level, in a new classroom and with new classmates. I know each one by his name, his nationality but are few days enough to describe one of them? And how lucky am I to reflect the right character of this person? Anyway, let’s try to do it.
She is under 20 years old but looks older, her white round face with plump cheeks and her sympathetic gaze expresses certain innocence. As most people from her country, I expect that she blushes when she feels embarrassed. Her light pink lips have apparent extremities on the upper one that affects her pronunciation. Her straight darkest brown hair is medium length with a fringe.
As I observed, she likes sparkling clothes and flashy colours like pink shoes or bright black jacket and doesn’t mind to take her shoes off in class (which I find it funny). She likes parties, pubs,... so essentially she likes weekends and enjoying life. When she speaks English, she talks slowly and we can hear the mother tongue influence.

I have written the report about the descriptin of two places, we chose an italian retaurant "Amici" and an italian cafe, here is the writing:
Amici” in “Nero Caffe”
Amici, friends in Italian and as the name announced, it’s an Italian restaurant. It is situated on Holloway road in front of Nags Head shopping centre. I heard about it, its nice food and good prices and that twice attracted me because of my preference of Mediterranean food.
From the first look, I didn’t like the sign which was a very simple one where the name of the restaurant was written in blue on a yellow background. What an amazing combination of colours that was out of my expectations!!
Once into the place, I liked it. Walls were painted on red and white which fitted to the white tablecloths and the red napkins. Many landscape boards were hanged up, big pots of plants were placed everywhere and flower vases were put on some tables, that fills you with excitement and makes you feel happy and healthier.
The music was played very low but I liked the choices, I was listening to some hits of Whitney Houston, Tony Braxton and Mariah Carrey. It was quite pleasant because they are my favourite songs of these singers.
When I went to the toilets to wash my hands, I found them clean but at the same time very simple and sober , at my exit, I saw in front of me some children’s chairs that I appreciated.
After having the menu, I have chosen a seafood pizza with prawns, smoked salmon and tuna despite its inconvenient price, telling the truth the pizza was delicious, the dough was thin and it was baked on wood fire. When the waiter brought the bottle of water, we have remarked that even this little bottle was from Italy, moreover, a man entered and put the delivery on a chair and then stayed to eat a pizza ( I think he was Italian also), the waitress began to empty the small boxes which contained special Italian desserts that came from there (What a surprising thing that makes you feel in Italy and let you trust that you taste the real Italian meals).
At lunch time, it was quite empty but there were different kinds of people: Families, friends, couples. I focused on the waiter who was wearing a pink shirt and black trousers. He is a young white boy, with spiky black hair, he is slim and looks with his white shoes and surly face that was rarely interrupted by a short smile like a member of a mafia (and if I was right, maybe he was hiding his identity!!)
At the end, the bill spoiled my happiness, it charges us an optional gratuity but which was added and included on the total. It was really unpleasant so finally I thought it wasn’t worth the time and the price.
After that, destination to the nearest cafe that carries the same name, same sign and same colours. When I entered, I looked around but I didn’t find it friendly, it looked sad even the ceiling was deteriorated, with some dark spots. There were many pictures of cups of coffee. In one corner, they sale different kind of pasta and canned tins. The place was strange for me and I have decided to change it, so I went discovering the shopping centre.
The final choice was “CAFFE NERO” which means the black coffee, by chance it was Italian too. I absolutely loved the place because it sits in the shopping centre so it’s calmer. The first thing I saw at the entrance was the access for disabled even for pushchairs in order to avoid going down few stairs.
There, you can feel a warm ambiance communicated by garnet walls, wood chairs and slightly illuminated lamps. A big lounge, where two mirrors are hanged up, contains many tables, sofas and chairs. There were many Photography of Italian people who were playing cards, in fact Neapolitan cards are the most popular in Italy.
I wanted to try an Italian speciality so I took a “tiramisu” which is a popular cake layered with mascarpone cream cheese, it looks very sweet but it isn’t. The cafe serves many kinds of coffee (espresso, cappuccino, caffe latte, caffe mocha, hot chocolate Milano...) and also different types of pastries.
I liked also the music, a kind of pop soul music that reminds me of Tracy Chapman or Boyzone. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. I was impressed by this new discovery and I would recommend it.

I like my grandmother's house in Casablanca, it is situated in an ancient neighbourhood. Under her house, there is a cafe, where most of the youth gather. All the day you can smell strongly the coffee and the cigarettes.
It's a small house which was a french doctor's surgery during the french colonization. On the floor, there are brown and wnhite tiles that remids you of bars of chocolate.
There is a small lounge with a big mirror hanged up on the wall which was deteriorated by time and looks like cracked, thus the lounge looks bigger. It's a fresh lovely place where I usally spent summer holiadys.

Today, I came back to London. I left a sunny weather in Casablanca in spite of the rain, and I return to a cloudy one.
During the travel, I did some revision on the plane:
1- "Grammar reference" for 7 lessons p.108-109.
2- Past simple and past participle of irregular verbs.

1- I have finished reading the "language to go" (phrasebook): It was simple in reading, I've got a lot of information through it, it's a useful book that you can carry everyday in your bag. It introduces you simple notions but I found it small and might contain even more.

1- I have done the vocabulary and grammar exercixes of lesson 3 ( "What's in a name?" hans't been done on the classroom) p.89.
2- I have read some pages of language to go (phrasebook) which is attached to the book: It contains some expressions and words that can help everyday, it's useful for people who are learning english. I liked specially the "culture notes" which are describing the common behaviours and different habits in UK.
